Library Progress

I'm very slowly getting through this project. I want to be done. Here's my progress...

I can't upload my actual proposal cause I don't have Indesign on this computer. All I have left to do is the brochure and some of the promotion. I want to get it finished!

Pictures

Ok I got the files... This is my final color logo

This is the horizontal logo...

And last but not least, these are my individual icons...

The changes I still need to make on those are
1) I'm going to adjust the meeting room one so it looks more recognizable
2) I'm going to make the computer screen a little bit bigger

Library Project

Ok, so I really need to update this more often...

I've got my logo and color finalized. I also have all of the icons, there are a few hanges I need to make to a couple of them but for the most part I'm done.
Unfortunately, I don't have illustrator on my computer (which is where I'm blogging from) so I can't upload any of it. So I will on my next update.

Right now I'm working on the layout for my proposal. I'm kind of just playing around with different ideas  I don't have anything concrete yet. Hopefully I will get something together today.

Library Project

Yeah... So it's been quite some time since I've updated this. Right now I'm working on our group presentation on Chermayeff and Geismar and beginning to work on the library project. My idea was to go to a smaller library next to my parents house and take pictures of there signage. But when I got there they had no icon or logo or anything! All there was, was a sign that had a horse on it! I couldn't find anything in the library with a logo or anything. But that's okay, I'm still going to use this library because they are obviously in need of some identity!
This is the sign. All it has is the Texas symbol and the race horse symbol, both of which are symbols for the city of Grand prairie, aka: the library has no logo of it's own.
This is the plaque outside the building of Betty Warmack, the woman who the library was named after.
This is one of the signs on the end of the shelves.
This is an overview of the library.

Progressing!

Ok I'm still working on my book... of course. But I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Here's a few more pages. I think I have 4 left to finish.

Ok so I'm coming along pretty well with my book. I've still got a lot of ideas that I like but now I'm just worried about the amount of time I have to do it in...

Anyways, these are the updated layouts that I have.
I originally wanted it to look more like the original Super Mario games and I guess it does a little. I'm happy with it though.
I'm really glad Ethan suggested the wood texture for a background. I tried it and I really like how it turned out. This is the deconstruction page.
This is my movement one... It works.
This is my depth/ dimension one. I think I may tweek it a bit more if I get some time.
I thought this was hilarious, and still do. It's my favorite.

Ok, well hopefully I'll be done this week!

Icon Book Progress

Ok, so I've decided I'm going to go with a nature themed approach to my icon book. I was going to use recycled looking paper and bind it with two small slats of wood. I've got a lot of my pages for part 2 done. For the most part, I'm happy with them. I wanted to do my 2F form like a gummi bear. I had an idea that since my bear was in a walking position, he would be walking away from the gummi bear box like he was trying to escape. I like the idea, but I'm thinking it might not be cohesive with the rest of my book... Well, that's where I'm at right now. I'm hoping to finish part 3 today and hopefully get started on part 4.

Terms

An archetype or prototype is a model or pattern from which other things can copy.

The difference in a sign and a symbol is that a sign indicates something, and a symbol stands for something.
